Red Bull duo Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda were separated by just under six tenths of a second in the first stage of qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix, with Tsunoda being eliminated in last place.
Tsunoda expressed frustration over his lack of speed, stating that he felt his laps were cleaner but still not fast enough.
Despite trying various setup changes, Tsunoda couldn’t find the right balance in his RB21, leading to performance issues and handling complaints throughout the weekend.
Red Bull has prioritized providing upgrades to Verstappen, potentially contributing to Tsunoda’s struggles in achieving competitive lap times.
Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko acknowledged the disappointment in Tsunoda’s performance and highlighted the need for improvement.
